Big Small Things

With the needs so great and seemingly endless in Haiti, we are often looking to solve big challenges.  Once you solve a first big challenge it can seem like there is just another behind it - especially when you are working to build business and activate change in a 3rd world country.  But today just a small thing happened.

Paint went on a wall.

Today, they have started painting the sign on the wall of the school and church that we have built recently in Terre Nueve, Haiti.  At the same time the leader of the ministry, Pastor Simon is at a training for his teachers in Port au Prince.

Developing buildings, developing people… that's what this is about.

To think that just weeks ago these structures weren’t even standing is incredible.  Not only are the school and church buildings being improved, but the people as being transformed as well.

This picture was taken today at 2:15pm, July 12  - moments before the sign would start being painted on.

This paint reminds me that even from my desk in Rochester, NY we can help change a community. That's humbling.  It all started with a sketch on a Word document… and I'm no artist.

These are big small things I don’t ever want to miss.
