Passerine was one of the projects that James and Sarah Cammilleri began to work with early on in Haiti in 2016. After meeting Pastor Renel and seeing his sacrifice and faithfulness to the community, they decided to support the building of a new school building.
Construction started in late 2016 to build build a new school building, courtyard with trees to provide shade, and a bread oven with kitchen surround. A special thank you to the Hilton United Methodist Youth for raising funds for the Bread Oven and materials to start the Bread Program.
Once the school building was complete, attendance immediately began to grow, and is now educating more than 450 children, and each child is provided with a fresh whole wheat roll daily.
